Do you ever feel like you’re doing mental math all the time, trying to balance your needs with the expectations of others? Between work, family, friends, and the pressures of society, it can be difficult to prioritize the care that we all need. Therapy is a place to start learning what that self care looks like.

Hi! My name is Erin, and I'm a born and raised Midwesterner from a first-generation immigrant family. Through that experience, I have personally worked through the confusion of balancing the world I grew up in with the person I have become. I believe there is room for both.

While each individual brings new topics and histories to therapy, I find similar tensions exist for many of my clients. These often come in the form of "should's" around topics like work, relationships, and emotions. Getting back to the core of our emotions is the first step in creating a life of authenticity and fulfillment.

Working at the intersection of your personal story and how you experience the world, I hope to better understand how you have adapted and help you approach life in a way that promotes your growth. My grounding foundation as a therapist is rooted in discovering and aligning with your most authentic self. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

Outside of work, I enjoy reading everything from non-fiction to romance, taking way too many pictures of my cat, traveling with friends, and swimming in Lake Michigan. While I work with clients virtually, I also offer in-person sessions in Washington, DC around 2-3 times a year when I come back to visit!

Erin Cetindag, LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor)

About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. I am licensed in Washington, D.C. and Maryland, and will soon be taking clients in Illinois. I earned a Bachelors in International Relations from American University, and a Masters of Arts in Education and Human Development with a focus in School Counseling from George Washington University. After spending time training as a counselor in schools, I realized my passion for individual therapy work and transitioned to working as a individual therapist.

Therapeutic
Approach

I approach therapy from a person-centered foundation. I believe each person knows themselves and requires a unique approach to therapy that works for them.

Utilizing a Relational Cultural (RCT) and Psychodynamic integrative lens, I believe that we are influenced by our society, relationships, and learned patterns from our unique upbringings. I also utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS) frameworks to help conceptualize and translate these theories into accessible language in session.

I have experience working with:

  • Anxiety

  • ADHD

  • OCD

  • Autism

  • Depression

  • Trauma

  • Grief

  • Eating Disorders

  • Body Image

  • Stress

  • Career Counseling

  • Sex and Intimacy

  • Dating and Relationships

  • Life Transitions

Insurance

& Fees

I am an out-of-network provider with all insurance companies. While I don't work with insurance directly, your plan may have out-of-network benefits that may reimburse partial or full cost of sessions.

$175 per 50-minute session
Why out of network?

Being out-of-network (OON) means that insurance companies don’t have direct access to your records from our work together. I can focus on your needs rather than insurance companies requirements in order to qualify for therapy. My goal is that you receive more personalized care, tailored to you rather than constrained by session limits or pre-authorization delays. Considering the current climate we are in, I have decided that privacy and the choice of what is shared with insurance is better left to each individual. I also am able to tailor my caseload to ensure I am able to be fully present during the session, have flexibility with rescheduling, and ensure each client receives the energy and focus they deserve.

I will provide you with a monthly Super Bill that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Many Insurance companies with reimburse around 30-80% of costs depending on the individual plan.  I am happy to provide you with a guide of questions to ask your insurance to better understand your coverage.

How frequent are sessions?

In the early stages of therapy, I usually like to start with weekly sessions to get to know one another and build momentum. Once we build the trust and rapport, we can adjust if you feel you need more or less.

Do you offer financial assistance?

If you feel like I might be the right therapist for you but are not sure how to afford therapy out of pocket, let's chat! I aim to be accessible to as many people as I can.
